Experience and Education:

• Did all my teacher training in the Netherlands (B.Ed Equivalent)
• Major in Phys. Ed., History and degree in Bible Instruction
• 18 years of classroom experience in Elementary Independent Faith-based
       schools.
• I have done some curriculum writing for the OACS (Ontario Alliance of
       Christian Schools)
• I have also been active in my church teaching various programs for different
       ages
 
At Highlands YFC
  • I am the (part-time) coordinator of “the Door” in Grand Valley  http://www.highlandsyfc.com/  (one of the satellites in Highlands) 
  • Run a Wednesday after school program called “Extreme Zone” for kids ages 9-12 which consists of:
    • Free time 
    • Teaching/discussion time
    • Group game/activity
    • This year we are hoping to use “VeggieTales” as discussion starter
  • Run a community “Sports nite”  for ages 9-12
        (Non-competitive, cooperative, just for fun games)
  • Volunteer in the local public school in Gr.7+8
  • Do a “meet and greet” during lunch hour at one of the local high schools
  • Have “drop-in” for older teens (13-18 years old) on Friday night
This past summer we:
  • ran a “day camp” (ages 8-12) during 7 Fridays
  • hosted and participated in a community VBS program put on by 5 local churches (ages 5-12)
