I grew up in Alberta and came out to BC to do the Lifeteams program in January 2002 (http://lifeteams.ca/).  When that was finished I decided to stay out here!  I started out with YFC in December of 2002 as a personal assistant.  Since then my role here has morphed from strictly administration, to media production, event coordination, communications, and most recently, program development in our Langley area. 

Presently I: 

• work 3 days a week with YFC
• do youth work in Langley,
  • coordinating an after school art club
    • meet once a week after school at an elementary school
    • for those between ages of 9-12
  • working at The Bus - Langley's mobile drop-in

Laura’s reflections:

I'm really excited about the future of my work with YFC.  I love working with teenagers and I'm looking forward to incorporating the arts with youth work.
